1.If the vessels are used to maintain orthodoxy (Acaram), then one can use vessels made of brass, White lead, Copper, Silver, Bronze, Wood, etc. One can also use mud vessels, but these can be used once only and must not be reused. Kalchatti and Maakkal can be used to store pickles.
For serving, using smaller vessels made of silver, silver ladle, etc. is considered to be superior. When these are available, one can use vessels made of brass or white lead. Specifically, one must not use iron vessels or ladles to serve. The above-mentioned vessel types are used by orthodox elders. These days vessels made of Ever Silver are in use; these are inferior to an extent.
2.When well water is not available for cooking, water from any clean source can be used. If a borewell is available, one can use water from that source through a piped connection.
