Why should women not apply Urdavapundram like men and why should they not wear yellow Thiruman?

As per the scriptures, women must apply urdvapundram like a slant on the nose and it is said women must wear red and not yellow Srichurnam. Vedas have also mentioned this, so we have to follow what the scriptures have stated.
