Why is the chanting (Santhai) of Divya Prabandham not taught on days like Amavasya, Paurnami and Prathamai? 

Days like Amavasya, Paurnami, and Prathamai are considered Anadhyayana periods (days when formal Vedic/scriptural study is suspended); therefore, Santhai is not practised.
